da gbg bet: Ex-West Ham United Employee, a club insider, believes that Albian Ajeti is unlikely to find his way into the club’s plans between now and the end of the season, per the West Ham Way podcast (March 11th, 59:00).
What’s he said?
da imperador bet: Ajeti has struggled for minutes throughout the season, making just eight Premier League appearances under the management of David Moyes.
He has not played 90 minutes in the top-flight, however, and has yet to start.
Indeed, he has not even been in the squad for the last four games of the campaign and Ex does not think that Moyes believes he can have the required impact to come into the team.
Indeed, the Hammers are currently 16th in the Premier League, only clear of the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference. They face Wolves, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Burnley, Norwich City, Watford, Manchester United, and Aston Villa before the end of the campaign.
He said: “I don’t think Moyes rates him, simple as really. People tell me that on the training pitch he’s a decent finisher.
“I think he’s rated but I just don’t think Moyes thinks he’s ready to play in the Premier League, certainly in games where they are as important as they are now.”
Is life under Gold and Sullivan really that bad? Maybe this quiz will change your minds, West Ham fans…
Spot on
Ajeti has done nothing to endear himself to West Ham or the manager.
Since his signing, he hasn’t scored a single goal for the Hammers, despite playing the 90 minutes in an FA Cup clash with West Brom and an EFL Cup tie against Oxford United.
It should come as no surprise to note that the Hammers lost both games.
This is an issue and it should also be considered that Ajeti has never been on the winning side for West Ham when he has stepped on a Premier League pitch.
With Moyes’ men scrapping for every point they can lay their hands on, leaving him out is the sensible play.
Trying to bring him into the team and assuming he will hit the goal trail is naive at best and downright stupid at worst.
