da stake casino: According to reports in the Sunday Express, Everton are said to be eyeing a move for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy this summer should Romelu Lukaku leave the club.
da roleta: The Belgium international has so far failed to sign the new five-year deal – that would make him the best paid player in the club’s history – that he has been offered as he is keen to play Champions League football.
However, the Toffees are now ready to demand a world-record fee for the 24-year-old, who still has two years remaining on his contract, in a bid to keep him for at least one more season.
If he is snapped up by the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United or Bayern Munich, manager Ronald Koeman is understood to be ready to make the Foxes striker his number one target to replace the Belgian.
Here are three reasons Everton should steer clear of signing Vardy…
Style
If Koeman is looking for a change of style then Vardy would be an interesting addition, but if he is looking for a player similar to Lukaku then he is looking at the wrong man.
Vardy likes to use his pace by being played in behind and to chase and harry defenders to try and force errors, while the Belgian is taller, stronger and prefers to play with his back to goal.
While they have both shown that they are good finishers, Everton’s tactics would need to change if the England international was their first choice striker.
Goal record
While it is never easy to replace goals – hence why Everton have placed such a large price tag upon Lukaku’s head – Ronald Koeman surely won’t be sure that Vardy would be the answer if the Belgian did leave Goodison Park.
The 24-year-old has scored an impressive 85 Premier League goals in the last five seasons with his tally of 25 this term proving to be his best yet.
While Vardy has netted 42 in three seasons, 24 of those came in the title-winning campaign and he struggled to replicate that form again – scoring 13 – as Leicester registered a disappointing bottom half finish.
His age
While Vardy is clearly fit and still has the legs to make a decent impact at this level, Everton supporters probably wouldn’t be too impressed if Romelu Lukaku’s replacement was a player that turned 30 in January.
The Toffees fans would surely prefer a player with the potential to follow in the footsteps of the Belgian and try to replicate what he has achieved over the course of the past three or four seasons, rather than a short-term fix like the England international would probably be.
