Leeds fans have been expressing frustration on Twitter in response to Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post sharing a damning stat after Steve McClaren was sacked by QPR.
“One win in 15 games does for Steve McClaren at QPR. No prizes for guessing who that win was against,” tweeted Hay, causing a bout of negativity amongst the Leeds fanbase.
Leeds United may have turned a corner this season under Marcelo Bielsa but they have still put in the odd performance that can only be described as ‘typical Leeds’ – their loss to QPR in February was the epitome of this.
QPR picked up only one win between Boxing Day and sacking McClaren on April 1st and somehow it was high-flying Leeds who they turned over back in February.
The loss to QPR was in the midst of a bad run of form for Bielsa’s side as it was their fifth loss in their previous 10 league games dating back to December 29th.
Certain fans of the Yorkshire club on Twitter have been worried that the QPR result will cost them promotion as the race for the top two goes right down to the wire, whilst others have been reflecting on Leeds’ dominance that night and expressing frustration that they couldn’t pick up all three points.
