Visiting skipper Jack Grealish provided the assist for their second of the match, but despite that, some sections of the B6 faithful have offered up some advice regarding their star midfielder. Given he’s the captain, the comments were perhaps surprising.
One supporter said that the 24-year-old needed to be dropped because some of his performances and decisions this season have been questionable, which was reinforced by another who claimed their playoff-winner had been ‘shocking’ and also warned him that it isn’t the Championship anymore.
A further fan questioned why Smith is too scared to substitute Grealish considering how knackered he looked with one more claiming that it cost them the match.
It could be argued that the result was harsh on Villa, but it does mean they continue a poor start to life in the Premier League having won just one of their six matches, leaving them 18th on only four points.
