Yesterday’s Championship transfer roundup divulged information on the fee agreed for Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who has now completed his move to Burnley, the price set by Arsenal for Krystian Bielik and Preston’s interest in Andre Green. Today’s edition includes Leeds’ pursuit of Facundo Colidio, an update on Matt Phillips and an improved bid from Middlesbrough for Charlton’s Anfernee Dijksteel.
Leeds want Colidio
Report: According to FcInterNews, Leeds are interested in Internazionale’s Facundo Colidio. Marcelo Bielsa is said to be a great admirer of the 19-year-old, who Inter value at between €8m (£7.3m) and €10m (£9.2m).
Verdict: The highly-rated Colidio is not just eyed by the Whites, but also by Newcastle. His career is only just beginning, and he is yet to even make an appearance for the Serie A outfit’s senior team. At youth level, he has a record of 21 goals in 63 matches – not bad, but not fantastic either. It was in the UEFA Youth League where he caught the eye in particular last season though, with him scoring five goals in as many games. Andrea Radrizzani’s Italian roots may make this transfer a real possibility for the Elland Road club. Either way, the Argentina U20 international is one to look out for in the future.

Villa have not made Phillips approach
Report: As per Birmingham Live, Aston Villa are yet to make an approach to West Brom for winger Matt Phillips. It had previously been reported that an enquiry had already been lodged, but that appears not to be the case.
Verdict: This is a rare story during this transfer window: not only have the Villans not signed someone, but they haven’t even attempted to! In all seriousness, there is little need for Dean Smith and co to bring the Scotland international to Villa Park. They have already made 12 signings this summer and have several players who can play in the wing position. Phillips will be better served staying at West Brom. If the Baggies can keep hold of their best players, the 28-year-old may be playing Premier League football in 2020/21 anyway.

Middlesbrough make fresh Dijksteel offer
Report: It is being reported by Football Insider that Middlesbrough have made a third bid for Charlton defender Anfernee Dijksteel. The offer is said to be in the region of £2m. The North-East outfit hope that they can sway the Addicks with this latest approach.
Verdict: Jonathan Woodgate and co are clearly determined to take the 22-year-old to the Riverside Stadium, which has prompted this latest approach. That is because they are desperate to bring in another right-back before the transfer window slams shut next week. Currently, they have just one available in Ryan Shotton. The Smoggies have a small squad overall, in fact, with just 18 first-team players to choose from currently. The next six days could be very busy for them. For Charlton, it would be a shame to lose a player who played in 33 games last term as they earned promotion to the Championship.
How likely is the deal? 7.5/10
