da dobrowin: If West Brom’s 3-1 defeat to Derby last weekend wasn’t already bad enough, then the red card picked up by Hal Robson-Kanu late in the game will have come as an even bigger frustration.
Going into the play-offs Albion now have just two fit strikers available in Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle.
But faced with the prospect of possibly appealing Robson-Kanu’s ban, supporters of the club have shown their fury towards the 6 ft 1 attacker by insisting the club shouldn’t try to overturn the decision.
One supporter simply hoped he’d get a lifetime ban whilst another wanted to see the Welshman banned for the entire play-offs.
He’s had a pretty terrible season at the Hawthorns and much of their anger was presumably elevated because of that.
A further fan said it was a stupid way to get sent off, urging for Kyle Edwards to be put in the squad ahead of him.
The 29-year-old has been with the Baggies since 2016 and has only managed four goals in the league this season. He’s appeared as a substitute an incredible 21 times throughout. However, it now looks as though he’ll miss Albion’s play-off semi-final first leg.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
