According to L’Equipe journalist Nabil Djellit on Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Leicester City striker Islam Slimani before the transfer window slams shut on Friday night.
Djellit says that Spurs, along with Serie A giants Inter Milan, are keen to recruit the 31-year-old before the deadline, with Manchester United also making a tentative enquiry for the Foxes man.
Of course, the 31-year-old is actually currently on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Monaco, where he has scored seven goals and provided a further seven assists in 14 appearances in all competitions this term, although France Football, via Get French Football News, reported earlier this week that he had requested the temporary spell be ended early.

France Football reported that was because he was keen on a return to the Premier League with both Spurs and the Red Devils keen on him.
It remains to be seen whether his reported wish will be granted or not, but it appears as though Jose Mourinho’s men lead the chase for him when it comes to interested English clubs, as per Djellit.
No clues whatsoever: Which seasons do these iconic Spurs images belong to?
Slimani would at least bring some Premier League experience to the table for Spurs given his spell with Leicester, although he ultimately flopped at the King Power Stadium with his record standing at eight goals in 39 English top flight outings.
One to watch today, it seems.
